About BAC Local 7

Local 7 is a Mega Local that was established by the merger of several individual BAC Allied Crafts into one autonomous unit. The stunning and artisan work at Museums, Schools, Libraries, Transportation Centers and Condominium Projects was probably completed by members of Local 7. Marble is the cutting, carving, drilling and setting of interior marble and/or stone at the job site.  Marble Restoration is the patching, restoration, cleaning and polishing of all marble, stone or similar material after installation is completed in the building.

Dating back to ancient Greece, the world was first given the glimpse of the artistic beauty that can be created through marble. Today, marble graces a variety of both commercial and residential locations with the same durability and beauty first displayed thousands of years ago.

Marble is resistant to moisture and makes cleaning an easy task. It’s naturally resistant to bacteria and allergens commonly found in carpeting such as pet dander, dirt, and pollen. While not stain-proof, marble is quite stain resistant to liquids such as wine. Marble is practical and beautiful.

It comes in various color designs, polish, and it’s a natural stone. While a higher end option for owners, marble provides a stunning and exquisite appearance with a durability that makes its lifelong return on
investment difficult to match.

Marble has many decorative and structural uses. Not limited to, but including the following, we install, repair, and refurbish:

  • Mausoleums
  • Walls, veneers and flooring
  • Decorative stairways and walkways.
  • Countertops
  • Bathrooms including showers and pools
  • Shelving

Tile is the cutting and setting of all tile where used for floors, walls, ceilings, walks, promenade roofs, exterior veneers, stair treads, stair risers, facings, hearths, fireplaces, and decorative inserts.

Across the globe tile is bringing rooms to life. From the elegance to a ballroom to the style and beauty that tile brings out in a fountain or bathroom, tile is a wonderful durable and eco-friendly surfacing material.

Tile provides many options for the look that you desire due the various sizes, colors, and layouts that you
have at your disposal. It will not stain, fade, burn, and it resists water and chemicals to keep it environmentally safe. It does not absorb odors, smoke, contains no toxic chemicals or coatings, all which reduce the growth of viruses, mold, and mildew.

Tile provides versatility for intricate work that in the hands of a qualified installer can bring out the
charisma in any room.

Tile can contribute to LEED points in these ways:

  • Recycled Materials Content (MR Credits 4.1 and 4.2)

Terrazzo is the installation of cement, epoxy, and seamless flooring, trowel down sand and quartz epoxy flooring and resinous flooring, on both horizontal & vertical surfaces.

Created in Venice, Italy, the terrazzo flooring system has been used for 500 years. It was discovered by Venetian workers who found another use for discarded marble remnants. Today, it is considered the contemporary flooring choice for use in buildings today.

Terrazzo flooring systems have become increasingly popular as technological advancements have been made in the installation process. New equipment for grinding and polishing has not only lead to a more efficient install process, but in the past few years there have been enhancements through more colors,
natural aggregate, glass aggregate, and even metal particles and components.

The beauty and classy look of this flooring system combined with the return on investment for a long-term terrazzo floor has made it the preferred choice for hospitals, schools, airports, office buildings, commercial facilities and other high traffic locations.
